Ladies Night, 15th January 2010, at Ponthir Village Hall.

It has take a us a couple of years to get back into the swing of the Society events, but we have started to get back on track with the traditional Ladies Night.

This is a night when wine takes a back seat, and the members treat their wives, partners or close friends to a meal.

Ponthir Hall put on a marvellous selection of starters, main courses (even if the Chicken au poivre was enthusiastically peppery), dessert, cheeses and coffees for us.

Unfortunately, due to illnesses, and the difficult driving conditions where the snow is refusing to clear, not all the members and wives were able to get to the Ladies Night. Sincere commiserations go to Mr & Mrs Alonzi, Mr & Mrs Ellis, Mr & Mrs Leek, Mr & Mrs Thrush and Mr & Mrs Dando. Hopefully we will see you all at the next event.

Although it was not an evening for speeches, Dave Llewellyn could not resist the opportunity of giving a few words on the virtues of the Society. The Society President, Paul Murphy, raised a toast to the ladies, and Society Secretary thanked the chef and servers.

A votre sante.
